ABOUT BETTY ST. CLAIR

Betty was born into a Christian home in  El Paso, Texas. She married Ed St. Clair who later became an ordained  minister. They were married for 33 years and had 3 children—Ginger,  John, and Betsy.  These children are now grown giving them 7  grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Betty is uniquely qualified to  lead people to hope in Jesus Christ.  Having experienced depression for  many years, she understands how depression can cause so much hurt,  disruption in one’s life, and the inability to cope with even the very  simplest of everyday tasks and situations. Betty knows too well the  despair and hopelessness that the depths of depression can cause a  person. Just like so many others, she has experienced the many facets of  depression—a racing mind, a life filled with dread, anxiety, and fear,  as well as an endless search for help. Depression can seem to be very  complicated to anyone who experiences these things. God has given Betty  the reason why a person becomes depressed and the way to truly be free  of depression. Now Betty knows and lives the joy of freedom from  depression. Over the years others also have experienced this same  freedom through the teaching and help that Betty has given to them.

Since  Betty was raised in a loving and Christian family, there would seem to  be no reason for her to be depressed and certainly not at an early age.  She had committed her life to Jesus at age 10.  However, she struggled  with depression through her childhood and into adulthood. When children  suffer with depression it is very difficult for them to express or even  identify their thoughts and feelings. There were times of joy in her  life—her marriage to a wonderful and kind man, the birth of their 3  children, and the love and care of a great family; and yet there was  fear, dread, anxiety, and depression in her life.

She tried a  variety of tranquillizers, sleeping medication, and all types of ideas  and solutions that claimed to be ways out of depression. Many of these  ideas were methods, routines, patterns, and rules which seemed to work  for a time. She thought surely one of these ways would bring her  freedom, since most of them stated they were from a Christian point of  view. No matter how hard she tried or whatever she used, depression  remained in her life.

Depression is something that drives a  person further and further into the depths of hopelessness and guilt.  Hopelessness, because nothing is helping; and guilt because, as a  Christian, one should not be having this much trouble with thoughts and  emotions. When hopelessness and guilt overshadowed most of her life,  every day living and tasks became a constant and monumental  struggle. Just living became very hurtful and filled with fear, dread,  and anxiety. She wondered why this was happening to her. She had so many  blessings; and yet living became more and more difficult.

One  day the Lord witnessed to her heart that there was a way out of  depression, one that would not fail no matter what might take place in  her life. It was during the next year that the Lord gave her the way out  of depression according to His Word. What a wonderful journey it was,  even with all of its ups and downs!

Once she received God’s way  of dealing with depression, this was put it into booklets, workbooks,  seminars, and teaching on a one-to-one basis. The success and victories  that many have experienced has been tremendous. The Word of God says  that there is simplicity in Christ; and God’s way to freedom is just  that simple—if anyone will take the time to learn and apply what God has  given to Betty, he/she also will be free of depression. Freedom, peace  of mind, and joy became a way of life for her. There were still  problems, disappointments, and even tragedy —the death of her husband.  What God had given to her was put to the test with this event. Although  with this loss came sorrow and grief, depression did not touch her life.  She simply applied what the Lord had shown her about depression and  found an even greater appreciation of how God desires everyone to have  victory over depression.

Betty and her family moved to the Kansas  City area in 1979. Her husband, Ed, went home to glory in 1989. After  his death, Betty and her daughter Betsy remained in Kansas City  continuing with the ministry of Journey’s End seeing many lives changed  and free of depression. In the spring of 2009 Betty moved to the Dallas  area. Betty has served the Lord for many years serving God in many areas  of her church and community. She has studied and taught God’s Word  since her early teens. Betty traveled with her husband on many  evangelistic meetings leading the singing, playing the piano, and  teaching. She is a licensed and ordained minister and has been sharing  with others what God has given to her, holding seminars, and teaching  many on a one-to-one basis since 1975.

These  things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the  world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome  the world. - John 16:33 KJV
