Finally...part 2
Remember, the word finally is found 6x in the Bible and only in the New Testament (by the 2 Apostles Paul 5x and Peter 1x). Last month we saw the first and second time finally was used. Truly we are living in the last days just before the Rapture of the Church. God warned us of these times in 2 Timothy 3:1, This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
God lists what will be taking place—for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God (2 Tim. 3:2-4). There are 18 things listed that will and are happening now—the number 18 in the Bible has the meaning of bondage.
All the above verses are given by God that we might be fruitful and obedient in these times of turmoil and uncertainty. Then God continues and said what we should do when we see these things taking place, from such turn away. For these false teachers are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof (2 Tim. 3:5,7).
Also Paul warned against false teachers who believed in adding works to one’s salvation. However, it is only by grace we are saved through faith and not of ourselves lest anyone should boast. This gift comes from God and does not require any type of our own works (Eph. 2:8,9).
3rd verse using the word finally.
Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. Phil. 3:1
Rejoice in the Lord
Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Rom. 12:12
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Phil. 2:16
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Phil. 4:4
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 Peter 1:8
Results—True Joy in Jesus
True joy comes only through Jesus Christ. Paul warned against spiritual counterfeits which try to steal away our joy. It was not grievous for Paul to write this to believers because he desired that they would be safe from such false teachings.
4th verse using the word finally (Phil. 4:8).
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are
True,
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psa. 119:160

Praise
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Heb. 13:15
Think
In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. Psa. 94:19
Results—Those things, which ye have both (Phil. 4:9)
Learned But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 2 Tim. 3:14
Received Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1 Cor. 2:12
Heard In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Eph. 1:13
Seen Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 Peter 1:8
Do And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Col. 3:17
God of peace shall be with you
Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. Rom. 15:33
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant. Psa. 135:3
Praising the Lord Jesus and exalting His Name needs to be a continual part of our daily lives. Even though we live in turbulent times we must never forget the goodness, love, and care that our Heavenly Father gives to us because of the Name of Jesus. We will be searching the scriptures using the letters S and T to see the Names and Titles of Jesus.
S•Saviour
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 1 John 4:14
How assured we can be of God’s love because He so loved the world that God gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Jesus is truly the Saviour of the world and those that do not have the Son of God do not have life. (1 John 5:12).
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our SaviourJesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 2 Tim. 1:10
For our Saviour Jesus Christ abolished death by His sacrifice on the Cross and brought us life.
Shepherd
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Heb. 13:20
Through the shed blood of Jesus on Calvary we have an everlasting covenant. God raised Jesus from the dead that we might have newness of life.
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 1 Peter 5:4
Jesus is called the chief Shepherd in the above verse. Also in John 10:11 Jesus is called the good shepherd.
T•True Light
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. John 1:9
There are many false lights in this world. However, Jesus is the true source of both life and light (physical and spiritual).
Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. 1 John 2:8
The new commandment was both an old and a new commandment—to love one another. When we are in Him as the scriptures says, the darkness is passed and the true light (Jesus Christ) now shines in our hearts and in our lives.
Truth
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
This is the 6th of the 7 I am proclamations of Jesus in the Gospel of John. Jesus is the way to God, the truth of God, and the life in God.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17
Some think God was harsh and legalistic in the Old Testament and full of grace and love in the New Testament. The word grace is found in 37 verses in the Old Testament and the word mercy is in 208 verses. God never changes always giving grace and mercy to His people.
Because of Jesus—we need not fear though we are living in unstable times because as the Lord our God has said,
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. Psa. 31:24
With Thanksgiving
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isa. 55:11
We thank God that we are able to share His Word with others and see their lives changed. Exciting times are in store for the people of God. It is our prayer that this ministry and teaching will both bless you and cause you to grow in the Lord Jesus. Thank you for continuing to help us make a difference in the lives of others through your prayers and financial support. May His love, faithfulness, and power keep you safely in His perfect will.

Finally
The word finally is found 6x in the Bible and only in the New Testament. Finally means at the end or conclusion of something, also ultimately or lastly concerning a matter. The Apostle Paul used this word 5x in his epistles and the Apostle Peter 1x in one of his 2 epistles.
Paul wrote to the believers in the Churches about how to live by faith in Christ Jesus and by the power of God. Many Christians would experience weaknesses, imprisonments, hunger, and a variety of hardships in their lives. Therefore, it was Paul’s desire to teach believers sound doctrine, correction, and instruction in righteousness. He admonished them to show themselves in patterns of good works, as well as showing uncorruptness, and sincerity (2 Tim. 3:16; Titus 2:1,7).
There are many other teachings which Paul revealed throughout his epistles. When Paul would finish certain teachings he would conclude them with the word finally. Then Paul followed by giving additional instructions that would result in blessings and benefits for those who would heed the teachings given to him by Jesus.
1st verse using the word finally.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 2 Cor. 13:11
Be perfect,
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. Psa. 18:32
Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. Psa. 101:6
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. Psa. 37:37
Be of good comfort
Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Psa. 119:76
Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side. Psa. 71:21
Be of one mind,
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Rom. 12:16
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus. Rom. 15:5
Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Phil. 3:16
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Phil. 2:2
Live in peace
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Rom. 12:18
The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace. Psa. 29:11
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Psa. 85:8
And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Isa. 32:17
Results—the God of love and peace shall be with you
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Eph. 2:4
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Phil. 4:9
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess. 5:23
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Heb. 13:20
2nd verse using the word finally.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph. 6:10
Be strong in the Lord
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; Eph. 3:16
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Col. 1:11
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isa. 40:29
In the power of his might
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Rom. 15:13
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 1 Cor. 2:5
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Eph. 3:20
The New Testament contains 27 books and Paul wrote 14 of them. Please note that whenever Paul wrote a verse that taught us how to live daily for Jesus, he expounded on it by giving us additional verses in his other epistles. These are not rules and regulations but rather teach us the abundance of the freedom we have in the Lord. Next month we will continue to study the other 4 scriptures that use the word finally.
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20:31
We praise God that He has given us the written Word that we might believe Him and the many promises Jesus has given to us. Our lesson continues on the Names and Titles of Jesus with the letters Q and R.
Q•Judge of the quick and the dead
And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. Acts 10:42
God has ordained Jesus to be the Judge of the quick. The quick are those who are His own and the dead are those who have rejected His salvation.
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Tim. 4:1
The judgement that Jesus will do is when He returns and sets up His Kingdom.
R• Redeemer
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: Job 19:25
This is the first time the word redeemer is found in the Bible. God revealed to Job that a Redeemer would come; however, Job did not know when this would occur nor whom He would be.
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isa. 44:6
Rock
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 1 Cor. 10:4
The Rock from which waters sprang forth for the children of Israel typifies Jesus who gives us living water (John 4:11).
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. Deut. 32:4
Because of Jesus
Betsy and I will never be able to thank Jesus and praise Him enough for how faithful He is to us and Journey’s End ministry. With the many uncertainties that seem to try to overwhelm God’s people, what an assurance we have that God will sustain and continue to bless all those that love and serve Him. We encourage every one of you not to fear, but remember what God has said in His Word.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Cor. 15:58
With Thanksgiving
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Psa. 40:5
What a wonderful Lord we serve. His thoughts toward us cannot be numbered. Daily we see the faithfulness of Jesus as we see lives set free from doubts and fears. They now are rejoicing in His goodness, love, and the marvelous works that their Saviour is doing in their lives.
We are encouraged by your prayers and continued financial support to this ministry; and we thank the Lord for every one of you. May the grace and peace of our Heavenly Father be with you as He keeps you safely in His perfect will.

O, What a Way to Live! Part 2
We are living in a fast changing world today. At times this can be quite unsettling and even frightening. Nothing seems steadfast or dependable. Certainly this could cause a person to feel insecure and helpless. Much of what is happening now is a crafty plot designed by the devil. For us to feel fearful, anxious, and hopeless is exactly how Satan wants us to react to what he is doing. His plot is an attempt to try to control us and rule our lives. The devil desires that we live according to his rules which will bring about chaos in our lives; and then he will try to rob us of our faith and trust in Jesus.
Remember, God has a plan that will enable us to live our lives with peace and joy as we look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. The following passage of scripture shows us the Lord’s Plan.
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, Deut. 10:12
God’s plan includes 4 things that He requires us to do—to fear the Lord God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, and to serve Him with all our hearts and souls. As we live according to God’s plan truly we can say—O, What a Way to Live!
Last month we looked in the Word of God to see what it means to fear the Lord our God. Although we are not to be afraid of God we do need to reverence Him, honor Him, and stand in awe of His holiness and power. Also the Lord has given us His Word that sets a path before us in order that we might know how to walk in all His ways. This month we will see what God’s Word says concerning to love and to serve Him.
To Love Him
The world has become ablaze with such terrible and tragic things taking place. We see a tremendous lack of love and concern for others in our society today. Although many talk a great deal about love, sadly they speak according to the world’s view of love. There is a vast and extreme difference between the world’s term of love and what the Lord has said on this subject in His Word.
And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, Deut. 11:13
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Psa. 97:10
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude 21
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Eph. 3:17
That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days:... Deut. 30:20
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. Psa. 5:11
To Serve the Lord thy God
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods; Josh. 24:15,16
For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 1 Thess. 1:9
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Heb. 9:14
What a joy it is to serve someone who loves us, forgives us, provides for us, directs us, and protects us, among other countless and wonderful things He has done for us. Praise and thankfulness needs to be a continual part of our lives because of what Jesus did for us on the Cross.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Cor. 2:9
In order that we do not become involved with the devil’s plot we need to be obedient to God and live our lives according to His Plan. The scriptures which we have read tell us about fearing God, walking in all His ways, loving and serving Him. Also these same verses show us the many wonderful blessings God has promised us. Then we can boldly say—O, What a Way to Live!
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; Deut. 7:9
And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 1 John 2:28
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. Psa. 29:2
The Name of Jesus is the name that deserves all glory, honor, and praise. Only His Name is above all other names. The Word of God says, let the whole earth be filled with His glory (Psa. 72:19) This month we will be looking at the letters O and P.
O•Only Begotten Son
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9
We truly are blessed that God sent Jesus His only begotten Son to die for our sins (1 Cor. 15:3). It is through the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross that we can have all things that pertain unto life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Rom. 8:32
Offspring of David
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Rev. 22:16
The name David is the first earthly name mentioned in the New Testament. We find this verse in Matthew 1:1, The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. The last mention of David is in Revelation 22:16,
...I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
P• Prince of life
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Acts 3:15
Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: 2 Tim. 2:8
We are so thankful that we have eternal life through Jesus our Lord. How marvelous and great is our Risen Lord and Saviour.
Propitiation
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2
Many are unfamiliar with the word propitiationwhich is found 3 times in the Bible (Rom. 3:25; 1 John 2:2;1 John 4:10). Propitiation means that there must be a blood sacrifice in order to atone (forgive) the sins of man. It was through Jesus shedding His Blood on the Cross that paid for the sins of all mankind. What God required would be satisfied; and then we could be reconciled unto God (Rom. 5:8-11).
Because of Jesus
Thank you for your encouragement and your willingness to be there to pray for me and my family. You have helped me to understand and see God’s Word in a whole new light. I now read the Bible with expectation and joy trusting in Jesus more each day. May the Lord bless you.
R
With Thanksgiving
We truly are a blessed people and we can be assured of our God’s care and mercy every day. God never changes and His Word is everlasting. Thank you for your help in bringing the truth into the lives of others.
The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. Psa. 145:17,18
It is through your prayers and financial support that lives are being changed—for all eternity. The truth of Jesus as Saviour, Lord, Provider, Redeemer, and the Price of Peace is changing the lives of those who are hurt, depressed, and the unsaved. May the love of our Heavenly Father and the richness of His glory keep you safely in His perfect will.

O, What a Way to Live!
Our world has changed drastically in the last few years. Nothing seems to be the same. Even trying to shop for groceries often becomes somewhat of a challenge. So many people feel discouraged and hopeless about life today. The way things are happening it looks as though times will continue to become even more difficult. Remember, the devil only has a plot to work his evil in this world. However, God has a plan for living—and living it well.
This plan of God has been applied by thousands of believers down through the ages. When God’s people have obeyed Him they were able to survive in times of turmoil, heartache, and hardship. There are 4 things that, when applied to our lives, we will be able to say, O, What a Way to Live! The Lord’s plan is found in the following verse as well as in many other scriptures in His Word,
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, Deut. 10:12
To Fear the LORD thy God
Our Lord is a mighty, powerful, righteous, and holy God to be honored, reverenced, and respected. Many today have very little fear of the Lord. God’s Word says, The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Prov. 1:7).
God’s plan is not just for those who lived in the time of the Old Testament. This same plan applies to us today who are living in the days of the New Testament. These are His standards to follow in order for us to truly have peace of mind, joy unspeakable, and a contentment that settles every troubled thought. Fear of the Lord is simply responding to God with an attitude of admiration, esteem, and with an expression of high regard for Him. We will experience countless blessings when we fear God and are obedient to His plan.
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psa. 86:11
Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you. 1 Sam. 12:24
Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. Psa. 33:8
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul. Psa. 66:16
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. Psa. 34:9
Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. Psa. 115:11
Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fearGod, which fear before him: Ecc. 8:12
He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great Psa. 115:13
That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever. Josh. 4:24
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: Heb. 12:28
To Walk in All His Ways
And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book. 2 Chron. 34:31
Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father: 1 Kings 6:12
Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walkand to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 1 Thess. 4:1
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1 John 2:6
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walkin the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. Psa. 128:1-6
How very rich and wonderful is the Word of God! What treasures we find as we read His precious Word. Truly the Lord has given us words for life and living. What strength and courage can be ours as we read the Bible that lifts us up above the fear, discouragement, and all the things of this world. This makes it possible for every child of God to say—O, What a Way to Live!
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psa. 27:1
O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved. Psa. 66:8,9
The July issue of the newsletter will contain Part 2 with the last two—To Love and To Serve.
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Phil. 2:10
In times of discouragement and overwhelming things, we can be assured that at the Mighty Name of Jesus every knee will bow. All the wickedness that seemingly abounds, bows and is defeated by the Name of Jesus. Our series continues with the letters M and N.
M•Mediator of the New Covenant
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Heb. 12:24
Abel’s animal sacrifice could not take away sin. It was the shedding of blood by Jesus on the Cross that made it possible for the remission of sin. Jesus is the mediator, divine intercessor by which sinners may be reconciled to God.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1Tim. 2:5
Morning Star
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Rev. 22:16
There is no darkness in Jesus. For He has said in John 8:12, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
N• Jesus of Nazareth
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10:38
Apparently the city of Nazareth was disliked (John 1:46). In Isaiah 53:3 we read that Jesus would be despised and rejected of men. Jesus of Nazareth is found 17x in the Bible; seventeen is the number for victory; completion of time, and change.
Name of Jesus
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Heb. 1:4
Because of Jesus
We encourage you not only to read the lessons and scriptures in our newsletters, but to meditate on them; and then apply them to your own life. They are not something we copy from a book or from another source. These come as a result of study and seeking God for that which we pray will bless you and show you some of the wonderful promises and ways to live fruitful and abundant lives. Often these are the lessons we need to learn for ourselves. Also we try to make them a part of our own lives. Betsy and I can testify that we use these same lessons and scriptures to help us in these trying and most difficult times. We thank Jesus for His faithfulness as His guides and helps us each day by His Word.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever:... Psa. 138:7,8
How loving and gracious is our Heavenly Father who continues to protect, guide, and care for us. With all the many current events of despair and tragedy, it is comforting to know that we can turn to our Lord and Saviour who remains eternally faithful and steadfast. It is our prayer that the teachings which God has given us will

O, Magnify the Lord!
Since the year 2020 many changes have taken place in our world. There has been and continues to be an over emphasis placed on the negatives of life. The information that we receive today in any form—television, radio, or internet news is filled with the prospect of got you or going to get you. These are designed to enhance fear, doubt, anxiety, and hopelessness in our minds. Sadly, most of their information promotes half-truths and lies. To embrace their so-called facts as being true or dependable can be like taking something that is poisoned. Remember, only the Word of God holds the truth.
As believers we need to be more watchful and discerning looking only to Jesus Christ for answers to everything in our lives no matter what we may encounter. In John 10:10 we read that Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. The devil has great success when he uses misinformation and lies as a means to accomplish his tasks.
There is no doubt that we have difficult and pressing times almost everyday. Often these things seem larger, greater, and nearly consume our very lives. A good example of this is found in Mark 2:1-12. Jesus went to Capernaum and entered into a house where He preached the Word. There was a man sick of the palsy and his friends took him to see Jesus. However, when they arrived many were gathered in the house; it was filled insomuch and there was no room even at the door for the sick man to enter into the house.
The situation looked dire because there was no room in the house and seemingly no healing would take place for their friend. The reality of not being able to enter the house was magnified because of what they saw—the throng of people.
However, his friends were not to be deterred in completing their mission. Their emphasis was placed on taking the sick man to Jesus. They went up on the house, uncovered the roof, and let their sick friend down into the house. Even though their action might have posed some repercussions from the owners of the house, the four friends remained relentless in their effort. They were going to do whatever it took in order that their sick friend would be able to see Jesus.
How many times in our lives, when a situation looked foreboding and unsurmountable, have we considered quitting. We looked at our circumstance through our own magnification of the problem and saw it was absolutely impossible. These four men would not give up nor give in, but pressed on to the top of the house, pulled back the roof, and let the man, who was on a bed, down to receive his healing from Jesus.
Jesus knew that the religious leaders would reason among themselves. Instead of looking at what the religious leaders had magnified in their eyes, the paralyzed man and his friends were looking to Jesus. Jesus saw the faith of the man’s friends and said to the sick of the palsy, Arise and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. Immediately the man arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all. The man was healed and all were amazed and glorified God. You will notice that they all glorified God. Therefore, it is important that we remember to praise and glorify God when we receive the many wonderful blessings from Jesus.
Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen. Psa. 72:18,19
This story in chapter 2 of the Gospel of Mark clearly shows the difference between the four friends of the sick man and the religious leaders. The religious leaders magnified on what they saw—the paralyzed man. The thoughts of the four friends became magnified on what they had heard about Jesus healing the sick.
Today more than ever before we are surrounded by those who doubt God’s Word and His power. There always will be those who will try to discourage us when we have a problem by magnifying the situation. Therefore, when problems take place in our lives if we look at them and magnify them as impossible, then they will seem to be bigger, larger, and greater. We become overwhelmed with thoughts that there is no possible solution in sight. Remember, look only to Jesus for the Word of God says,
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Jer. 32:27
When we use our own magnifying glass on any problem that we may face in our lives, the difficulties always will appear to be huge in scope. However, when we magnify the Lord and lift Him up in any situation, we will realize that our God is so much bigger and greater than any circumstance that we will encounter. God has spoken to us in His Word and told us what we are to magnify,
I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. Psa. 69:30
Remember,
•You have been magnifying the problem.
•Take the magnifying glass off your problem.
•Make Jesus greater than the problem.
•Make God bigger in your life.
•Place your faith in Jesus and the Cross.
Magnify means to make great or greater; to increase; to exalt in description or praise. It is important that we keep our focus on Jesus our Deliverer. He is far bigger than any circumstance. Make Jesus the Lord over any problem and start magnifying God for the Word says,
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. Psa. 70:4
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Psa. 96:2
What a joy it is to have a song in our hearts to sing about the wonderful Name of Jesus. Also on a day to day basis we have the privilege to show others the salvation that is available to them if they would only believe on His Name. This month’s lesson is on the letters K and L.
K• King of saints
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Rev. 15:3
Jesus Christ is our victorious Lamb! He is the King of all saints from the Old Testament through the Church age and even in the time of the great Tribulation.
King of kings
Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 1 Tim. 6:15
At His 2nd Coming to earth Jesus will appear and on his vesture and on his thigh a name written KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS (Rev. 19:16). Then everyone will know who Jesus is and He will rule and reign on the earth.
L•Leader and Commander
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. Isa. 55:4
In Rev. 7:17 we see that the Lamb (Jesus) shall feed and lead His people and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Lord our righteousness
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jer. 23:6
This means that the righteousness that gives us the right to enter the presence of God is from Jesus. Our own righteousness is as filthy rags (Isa. 64:6).
Because of Jesus
I loved this newsletter as it spoke volumes to me. The scriptures were so complete showing us what we all need. As we face all of the world’s problems, we can easily see that only Jesus is the Way Out. His sacrifice paved a way for those who believe in Him.
Keep reminding us that we do have a Saviour to lead us through all our problems and daily walk in life. What a comforting thought that He is The Way Out!!

It is the Lord’s faithfulness and help that will never fail. We at Journey’s End experience this over and over again as we minister to those who are in need of healing, deliverance, and help. Our own abilities and resources fall so short and yet we see the Hand of God doing great and mighty things in the lives of so many people.
Thank you for your prayers and support in helping us show others just how faithful our loving Saviour Jesus is in their present situation, as well as in all their tomorrows. May your lives be filled with our Father’s goodness, mercy, and blessings as He keeps you safely in His perfect will.

No Way Out!
There have been times of challenges, conflicts, and oppositions in all of our lives. Most of the time these happen occasionally to us. Some were solved rather quickly while others took months or even years to be resolved. Today it seems quite different. Challenges, conflicts, and oppositions are thought about differently and solutions seem more difficult to find. We often hear phrases such as—what has happened is far beyond any kind of good outcome; this time the problem is just too serious and with no help available; or there is absolutely no way out of this mess.
True, we live in desperate times with an abundance of seemingly impossible things taking place all around us. Some of these things have either touched our lives at some point; or perhaps something is happening at the present time making life more difficult. It would appear that the trap has been set and we are about to be caught—No Way Out!
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psa. 32:8
Soon after leaving Egypt God’s people were challenged as they encountered Pharaoh and his army pursuing them. Everything looked hopeless as they looked at the high water splashing against the shore of the Red Sea. There appeared to be No Way Out—they were trapped. However, God miraculously parted the Red Sea that they might go across on dry ground. A No Way Out became a way with God.
Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Psa. 27:11
Although the way through the land of the Philistines was near to the Promise Land (about 11 days), God said that His people might see war with the Philistines and return to Egypt. Therefore, the Lord led them through the way of the wilderness, a long 40 years journey (Exo. 13:17,18).
Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps. Psa. 85:13
With several million souls traveling in a wilderness there would be difficulties and many possibilities of lack and want. Once again there seemed to be No Way Out. Yet, the Lord provided as He went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light (Exo. 13:21). Also, God would rain bread (manna) from heaven for the people to gather a certain rate every day so that they would prove to God that they would walk in His way (Exo. 16:4).
Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. Psa. 5:8
There was much travail as the Israelites experienced problems, difficulties, and hardships as they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Through all the conflicts and oppositions the Lord continued to provide for them and to deliver them even when they battled against their enemies in war. The Lord has proved over and over again that when there seems to be No Way Out in a circumstance or situation, He always will be faithful to make a way for His children.
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Psa. 119:104
There were others that faced No Way Out throughout the pages of God’s Word. Yet God made a way for them against tremendous odds. A good example of this is Joshua.
Joshua—After the death of Moses the Lord told Joshua to go across the River Jordan into the land which He had given the children of Israel. God told Joshua that every place the sole of his foot shall tread upon would be given to him just as the Lord had spoken to Moses. Also the Lord told Joshua that no man would be able to stand against him all the days of his life. As God was with Moses, so He would be with Joshua; for He would not fail him nor forsake him (Josh. 1:1-5). The blessings and favor that God showed Joshua were full of great things for the Israelites. However, in order to receive all that He had promised, the Lord said,
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Josh. 1:8
Joshua was facing a No Way Out situation with no apparent way to make the crossing. Joshua must have remembered what God had said to him, I will not fail nor forsake you. Then with confidence in God, Joshua told the people to be prepared, for in 3 days they would be crossing the River Jordan and enter into the land of promise. God changed a No Way Out as He parted the waters of the Jordan making a way for them to go across the river.
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. Psa. 18:32
God had given the law to Moses in the wilderness. The law was the standard by which the children of Israel were to live each day. As long as God’s people were obedient by following the law, the Lord would continue to bless and provide for them. Now it is in Jesus Christ that we have a better covenant established upon better promises (Heb. 8:6). We are not justified by the works of the law, but rather by faith in Jesus (Gal. 2:16).
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Rom. 10:4
When we are facing situations that seem there is No Way Out, we can respond in one of two ways. We can look to the problem thinking that God will not be able to deliver us; or we can remember the last words that Jesus spoke on the Cross, It is finished (John 19:30). This means that all we will ever need has already been provided for us. In Jesus there is always A Way Out because—Jesus is the way.
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12
It is such a wonderful promise God gave to us that those who believe on the Name of Jesus would be given the power to be His children. In our study of the names and titles of Jesus, we will continue to see the many attributes of Jesus and what He did on the Cross to meet us in any time of need. Our lesson this month are the letters I and J.
I• Immanuel
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isa. 7:14
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matt. 1:23
These verses tell us of Jesus’ virgin birth and how He as God also became man. We can ever be assured that God is with us because of Jesus.
Image of the invisible God
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Col 1:15
This tells us of the deity of Jesus. Although no man has seen God at any time (John 1:18) we see all the attributes of God through Jesus. For Jesus said, he that hath seen me hath seen the Father (John 14:9).
J• Jesus
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matt. 1:21
The Name Jesus encompasses so much in His marvelous Name. Jesus Christ is also our Saviour who died on the Cross to save us from sin. What a Glorious Name!
Just
But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; Acts 3:14
God’s people rejected Jesus and wanted a murderer (Barabbas) to be released (Mark 15:7-15). How thankful we are that we have a Saviour who is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Because of Jesus
The following letter is from Victory World Missions which is the ministry that Rob, my son-in-law and Ginger, my daughter started years ago to reach Jesus in many parts of the world.
Thank you Journey’s End for your faithful giving to world missions. You partnered with others to help build a wall around a church building in Nacala, Mozambique. A wall like this was greatly needed to prevent motorcycles from taking shortcuts through the church property where children are playing. Though you may never see any of those children, they will be protected because you care. Thank you again!

O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name;
for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Isa. 25:1
Truly, we serve a Mighty God who has done wonderful things. With all the uncertainty in which we live, we can find peace and assurance in His faithfulness and truth. God’s Word is filled with faith, hope, promises, and a certainty that we are kept safely in the Lord’s care.
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Prov. 18:10
We are so grateful and blessed to have you as a part of Journey’s End through your prayers and financial support. Thank you for your continued prayers and your giving which helps us to tell others about this marvelous message of salvation, freedom, and deliverance. May our Heavenly Father direct your ways as He keeps you safely in His perfect will.

Dwelling in Rest
The word rest brings to one’s mind—peace, quietness, relaxing, or taking a break. Too often most of us seem to be in a hurry, multi-tasking, and trying to squeeze as much as possible into every waking moment. There is nothing wrong with accomplishing many things each day or being productive. However, God speaks of His rest that believers need in our lives.
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Heb. 4:1
There are 4 things in the above verse of scripture that we need to consider:
1. Fear
When God uses the word fear in Hebrews 4:1, it does not mean to be afraid or fearful of Him. Our fear of the Lord should be one of reverence and the desire to obey Him. For He has judged all things and does so in righteousness, And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness (Psa. 9:8). Therefore, we need not fear because God desires to bless us. Also there are benefits given to us when we fear (reverence and obey Him) such as goodness, no want, our shield, and our help.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. Psa. 19:9
Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men! Psa. 31:19
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. Psa. 34:9
Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. Psa. 115:11
He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. Psa. 145:19
2. A Promise
Whenever we read about a promise in the Word of God, it brings us hope and encouragement. For God has never failed in one of His promises. The greatest promise which God has given to us is eternal life through Jesus Christ and Him Crucified as we see in the verses below.
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 2:25
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. Gal. 3:22
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1 John 5:11
3. A Rest
The scriptures tell us that God has a rest for His children, There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God (Heb. 4:9). The Lord desires us not only to enter into His rest, but He wants us to dwell, to remain, to stay there. In the following scriptures we will find reasons why we are to enter into His rest, and also the blessings we will receive as we obey His Word.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb. 4:10
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. Psa. 16:9
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee. Psa. 116:7
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. Prov. 1:33
This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. Psa. 132:14
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. Psa. 140:13
4. Come short
Truly, we often come short of one of the greatest blessings that God has provided for us—His rest. If we choose to live according to our own abilities, knowledge, rules, ideas, or ways, we always will come short of entering into God’s rest. These things will be according to our flesh which will put us under law—any law (our own ideas, methods, talents, etc.).
How do we enter into God’s rest and dwell there? By allowing God to build our lives according to His knowledge and His way, then we will enter into His rest and know true freedom and victorious living. Our foundation must be in Jesus, who through His Blood sacrifice on the Cross, completed everything for everyone and for all time.
In the first chapter of Genesis God created all things in 6 days; and then He rested on the 7th day. The Word of God tells us that when we enter into the rest that God has provided for us we also will cease from our own works as God ceased from his works (Heb. 4:10).
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Heb 4:11
The word labour here does not mean to work, but rather to be diligent with confidence in believing God and His Word. This is why so many do not enter into God’s rest is because of unbelief and not trusting in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross. All that we will ever need and in all areas of our lives has been given to us by Jesus. Then we can dwell in His rest because in John 19:30 the last words that Jesus proclaimed on Calvary,
It is finished
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. Psa. 148:13
What a wonderful Lord and Saviour we praise and serve. The name of Jesus is excellent and His glory is above the earth and heaven. No matter what man tries to do, God will receive the ultimate glory. We will look at the excellent Name of Jesus as we continue with the letters G and H.
G•Governor
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Matt. 2:6
For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations. Ps 22:28
So much of what is happening today seems out of control with lawlessness. However, God has given us Jesus who will rule all nations.
Great High Priest
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Heb. 4:14
Jesus Christ who died for us and is risen became our Great High Priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. It is wonderful to know that Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross has been accepted by God and Jesus is the one who makes intercession for us (Heb. 8:1; Rom. 8:34).
H•Head of All
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Col. 2:10
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. 1 Pet. 3:22
We see that Jesus is the head of all principality and power. Also angels, authorities and powers are made subject unto Him.
Heir of all things
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Heb. 1:2
By Jesus were all things created in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for Him (Col. 1:16).
Because of Jesus
The world seems to have become a place filled with fear, anxiety, and hopelessness. Therefore, it is so important that we learn to enter into God’s rest. What a blessing it is that Jesus is our anchor and blessed hope. As we begin to learn to rest in Him we will be more confident that God will supply our needs, keep us from evil, and be our refuge.
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psa. 62:8

Blessed be the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Exciting times are in store for the people of God in these last days before the Return of our Lord. The time is near to His Returning and all of us need to seek God and His will for our lives.
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psa. 27:4
We pray that this ministry, its work, and its teachings will bless you and cause you to grow in the Lord. Thank you for helping us to continue to labor in the work of His ministry. Your financial gifts are an encouragement that tells us that you care and believe in a vital ministry that changes lives.
It is our prayer that you will daily seek the Lord and search out His Word that you will be blessed and encouraged in your walk with the Lord. May our Lord return your giving in abundance as He keeps you safely in His perfect will.

The Faithfulness of God’s Promises
Wars and rumors of wars are all around us in the world, in cities, in governments, in schools, and even in many homes. There is a sense of unrest and struggle everywhere and with no apparent way for this to come to an end. The terrible turmoil that we see and hear about is leading many to become hopeless and feel helpless. This never should apply to those of us who know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour because,
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Pet. 1:4
One day all wars and even the rumors of wars will cease. However, there will be one final war when all the kings and other rulers of the world will have one mind, and shall give their power and strength to the beast, the antichrist. This Satan possessed leader will have power given to him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations (Rev. 13:7). Only one opponent will remain—the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.
This final war is found in the Book of Revelation Chapter 19. We read that heaven will open and Jesus who is called Faithful and True is sitting on a white horse. Jesus will judge in righteousness and make war against the beast, the antichrist. Jesus will be clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God.
The armies, which were in heaven, follow Jesus; and they also are upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. These are the believers that were resurrected and raptured (1 Thess. 4:16-18). Out of the mouth of Jesus is a sharp sword, and with it He will smite the nations. He shall rule them with a rod of iron; and Jesus treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. On the vesture of Jesus and on His thigh a name is written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. This war is called Armageddon (Rev. 16:16).
According to the above passages we can be assured that all violence, turmoil, and even wars will one day come to an end. However, Jesus said in Luke 19:13 that we are to occupy until He comes. As we occupy we will be challenged and sometimes the enemy’s attacks will seem to be relentless. This is when we need to rely upon God and the countless number of promises He has given to us in His Word.
It is vital that we become established that our God always has been faithful; today is faithful; and forever will be faithful. For His Word says that there is no variableness neither shadow of turning in Him (James 1:17).
God is Faithful
Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 1 Thess. 5:24
Thy testimonies that thou hast commanded are righteous and very faithful. Psa. 119:138
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Cor. 1:9
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. 2 Thess. 3:3
God is Faithful in Times of Trouble
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Psa. 9:9
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. Psa. 138:7
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. Prov. 25:19
But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. Psa. 37:39
God Never Fails
For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Psa. 119:89
Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant. 1 Kings 8:56
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Isa. 40:26
God’s Faithful Promises
We are so richly blessed now with an abundance of promises from God. However, it is important for us to remember that the promises which the Lord has given to us are far searching even into eternity.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Heb. 10:23
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Pet. 3:9
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Titus 1:2
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 John 2:25
Today there are those with great influence and power who are making many promises. Their ideas sound great and seem that our lives would be better for most of us. However, we seldom see or hear of their promises being kept. In Psalm 118:8 God says, It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. The only person who we can totally depend upon and trust is our faithful Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2 Cor. 1:20
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. Psa. 111:9
Many people today do not reverence (respect) God, let alone the Name of our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus. His name is above every name. This is an exciting study because we will be learning the many attributes of the Name of Jesus. We will be looking at the letters E and F this month.
E•Ensign of the people
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. Isa. 11:10
Ensign is a standard or a banner. The children of Israel fought with Amalek and defeated him (Exo. 17:8-16). After this Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi: [means Jehovah is my banner] (Exo. 17:15).
Everlasting Father
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isa 9:6
Truly we can trust in our Lord Jesus because He is everlasting (Isa. 26:4). His throne is established forever (Psa. 93:2).
F•Faithful Witness
And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Rev. 1:5
What a wonderful Saviour we serve who is called Faithful and True (Rev. 19:11). Jesus washed us from our sins in His own blood; and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
First and the Last
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: Rev. 1:17
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isa. 44:6
There is no god like our God. Jesus has redeemed us through what He finished on the Cross.
Because of Jesus

Many of us have experienced storms and shaking in our own personal lives. Some of us may still be in the midst of such difficulties. God desires that His people look beyond all our adversities and look to Jesus our Lord and Saviour who is always the same and forever present.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. Psa. 46:1-3
Thank you for remembering Journey’s End with your prayers and your giving. We are so grateful to see a difference in the lives of people as we share Jesus and His Word which sets them free. May our Heavenly Father bless you and keep you safely in His perfect will.

Nevertheless at Thy Word
As Jesus went about the cities and towns preaching the kingdom of God, the people sought after Him and often desired that He not leave them, but remain with them. When Jesus stood by the Lake of Gennesaret the people pressed upon Him to hear the Word of God (Luke 5:1). Jesus saw two ships standing by the lake, but the fishermen were not in the ships because they were washing their nets. Jesus entered into one of the ships which was Simon Peter’s and asked him to thrust out the ship a little from the land. Then Jesus sat down and taught the people out of the ship (Luke 5:2,3).
When Jesus finished preaching he told Simon Peter to launch out into the deep, and let down the nets to draw out the fishes. Simon Peter answered Jesus and said that they had toiled all night and had taken nothing; nevertheless at thy word he would let down the net. After they did as Jesus said, their net had a great multitude of fishes and the net broke. The fishermen beckoned their partners, which were in the other ship, to come and help them. They did so and both the ships were filled and the ships began to sink (Luke 5:4-7).
Simon Peter was astonished, and all that were with him, at the vast catch of the fishes which they had taken. It was after the miracle of the fishes that Simon Peter spoke to Jesus and said, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. Simon Peter said this because he realized that he had doubted what Jesus could do and he had depended upon his own efforts which did not gain him even one fish (Luke 5:8,9).
The above story can teach us a great lesson on how we need to approach the everyday struggles we will encounter in life’s trials, problems, and circumstances. When we experience difficult times, we may feel hopeless because we cannot see any possible solution. Or perhaps, we go about trying everything that we can think of in order to solve the dilemma we are facing. However, our way of attempting to find an answer takes time and a great deal of effort on our part. Usually this way will only amplify the problem that we are experiencing. This can cause us to become frustrated, anxious, and at times even feeling desperate.
When we cannot find an answer to a difficult circumstance, what would make it possible for us to say to the Lord, nevertheless at thy word? We need to become established in the Word of God. This means that we allow God’s Word to have authority over everything in our lives including every problem, trial, or situation. Simon Peter looked to what he was established upon—depending upon what he could do and the way that he had always fished.
Even with the very physical presence of Jesus at his side, Simon Peter still spoke of his own lack and not of God’s promises. Within a vast amount of water, Jesus knew the very spot where there was an abundance of fishes in the lake. Then Simon Peter did not try to understand or reason by what he knew about fishing, he simply made a decision and said, nevertheless at thy word and trusted that Jesus knew where he needed to go and what he needed to do.
May our response to difficulties or trials that we face be the same confident response to the Lord as Simon Peter’s response. Therefore, when we encounter any of the following we need to remember the words—nevertheless at thy word.
•Sickness and disease
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Psa. 103:2,3
•Protection
Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Psa. 119:116
•Deliverance
Let my supplication come before thee: deliver me according to thy word. Psa. 119:172
•Guidance
For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Psa. 31:3
•Comfort
Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Psa. 119:76
•Afraid
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. Psa. 112:7
•Weary
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Gal. 6:9
•Persecuted
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 2 Cor. 4:9
•Distress
In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me. Psa. 120:1
•Troubled
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 2 Thess. 2:2
Often times, as with Simon Peter, Jesus will be very specific in answering us. When we encounter difficulties, we do not need to turn to our own understanding or abilities. Instead, remember those 4 words nevertheless at thy word; then turn to the Word of God and trust that the Lord will hear us, and will give us the answer which we seek.
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Tim. 2:19
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
As we study the names and titles of our Lord and Saviour we will be learning the wonderful and glorious Name that is above every name—Jesus. The scriptures in the Old Testament revealed Jesus in types and shadows and descriptive names of who He is. Our study continues with the letters of the alphabet and this month we will be using the letters C and D.
C•Captain of their Salvation
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Heb. 2:10
The word captain refers to someone who leads and directs. Just before the children of Israel were to go into Jericho, the captain of the LORD’S host appeared to Joshua (Joshua 5:13-15). This is an appearance of Jesus and is known as a Christophany.
Chief Shepherd
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 1 Peter 5:4
Shepherd is a word that is frequently used as one who cares for and guides people or animals. Only Jesus can hold the title of chief Shepherd because of who He is and what He did on the Cross (Isa. 40:11).
D•Deliverer
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: Rom. 11:26
The word deliverer means one who defends and protects. It is by the shed blood of Jesus on Calvary that He became our Deliverer. He also is our rock, fortress, God, strength, buckler, horn of our salvation and high tower (Psa. 18:2).
Desire of all Nations
And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. Haggai 2:7
This verse refers to the 2nd Coming of Jesus (His 1,000 year Reign on earth). He will shake all nations, and then the desire of all nations shall come (which is Jesus); and He will fill the earth with His Glory. What all nations have desired can only come through Him and Him alone (Prov. 10:24).
Because of Jesus
Our monthly lessons are often written because we are seeking answers for our own trials and struggles. The enemy always tries to prevent us from applying theses lessons in our everyday lives. However, we have continued to use these lessons in our walk with the Lord; and we have found that our lives are both more fruitful and joyful. Therefore, we encourage you to look to Jesus to help you embrace and apply these truths from His Word when you face any problem or struggle in your lives.

We are joyfully proclaiming this great message of hope to others. What a wonderful message we are bringing that Jesus loves them and is the answer to all their hurts, disappointments, and struggles. So Great Salvation
What a joy it is to celebrate the Birth of Jesus! God desires that we remember what Jesus has given to us through His Blood on Calvary and not neglect so great salvation (Heb. 2:3). Salvation is more than being saved; it means we have safety, soundness, and deliverance. Our salvation includes a vast number of blessings in order that we might know and live the fullness of a life in Jesus Christ. Below are some of these great blessings to remind us of why Jesus came to earth, died, rose from the dead, and gave us so great salvation.
Our Stand with God after being Born Again
Brand new creation
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor. 5:17
Buried, baptized, and raised in newness of life in Christ
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Rom. 6:4
Crucified with Christ
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Gal. 2:20
Washed, Sanctified, Justified
And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Cor. 6:11
Delivered from darkness into God’s Kingdom
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Col. 1:13
New heart and new spirit
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Eze. 36:26,39
Sins removed from us
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psa. 103:12
Peace of God
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:7
Heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Rom. 8:17
Child of God
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal. 3:26
What we have been given because of Jesus
Keys of the Kingdom
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matt. 16:19
Friend of Jesus
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. John 15:15
All things that pertain to life and godliness
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 2 Pet. 1:3
Loved, given consolation, and hope through grace
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 2 Thess. 2:16
More understanding of the things of God
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: Eph. 1:17
Holy Spirit dwells in us and quickens our mortal bodies
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Rom. 8:11
Sealed with the Holy Spirit
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Eph. 1:13
No weapon formed against us shall prosper
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Isa. 54:17
Healing
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Psa. 103:2,3
Access to the Father
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Eph. 2:18
The great salvation we have been given through the shed Blood of our Saviour Jesus on the Cross is too glorious and vast to be totally listed. Therefore, we need to remember His Birth, His sacrifice at Calvary, and not neglect to daily apply all that our Heavenly Father has provided for us.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Selah. Psa. 68:19
Be Encouraged...Names and Titles of Jesus
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Phil. 2:9
When names and titles are given to an individual they reveal their position, their importance, and their character. There are at least 220 names and titles which are given to Jesus in the Bible. We will be studying some of the names and titles that show who Jesus is and why we are to depend upon Him every day. Once again we will use the alphabet as a way of learning and memorizing scripture.
A - Advocate
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2:1
An advocate is one who pleads the cause of another. For Jesus ever liveth to make intercession for us (Heb. 7:25).
Author of eternal salvation
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Heb. 5:9
An author is one who creates or brings into being something. All things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, dominion, principalities, or power all things were created by Jesus and for Him (Col. 1:16).
B - Beginning and the End
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Rev. 21:6
Beginning means the origin or first of something. Jesus is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things Jesus might have the preeminence (Col. 1:18).
Bread of life
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35
Bread, a food which always has been considered to help sustain life. The bread which came down from heaven was called manna and helped to sustain life to those in the wilderness. Now the bread which God has given us is Jesus and when we eat of that bread we shall live forever (John 6:58).

With Thanksgiving
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Isa. 9:2
We, as believers, are so thankful for the Lord’s First Coming and are looking for that Blessed Hope, His soon Return. In the eyes of God we are just; therefore, we are in fellowship with Him. At this time of year may our walk be as it says in Proverbs 4:18,
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
Thank you for remembering the Lord’s work at Journey’s End. It is through your prayers and faithful support that we are able to bring the light of the glorious Gospel to a lost world. Our prayer is that you will be richly blessed this Christmas as the Lord keeps you safely in His perfect will.
Merry Christmas

God’s 419 Plan Part 2
As Betsy and I were preparing this month’s newsletter, we felt that a part 2 was needed to expound more on God’s 419 Plan that He has given to His children. Sadly, we are living in a time in history that our nation is experiencing a Pharaoh type government. We feel less freedom by the current policies and the way the business of our country is being conducted.
This reminds us of the time the children of Israel were in Egypt. They had to build whatever the ruler demanded them to construct and with the material given to them. However, the day came when they were required not only to find the material to finish their task, but also to work at the same pace to fulfill what was required of them. The children of Israel experienced such hardship and lacked the basic needs of life. It seemed as though their bondage and servitude would never end. However, God had a 419 Plan —deliverance, favor, healing, wealth, and strength.
God’s Deliverance
God’s 419 Plan includes deliverance. For the Lord has said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee (Heb. 13:5). In every situation or problem, in every fear or doubt, and no matter what happens in our lives, God will take care of us and always has been faithful to deliver His people.
And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go. Exo. 3:20
And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee. Jer. 1:19
And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee. Jer. 1:19
God’s Favor
How very blessed we are that God gives us favor in His sight and in the sight of others as well. This is one of the great benefits of God’s 419 Plan. Also we see this applied in the life of Joseph when God delivered him and gave Joseph favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh (Acts 7:10).
And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty: Exo.3: 21
And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians. Exo. 12:36
For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psa. 5:12
God’s Healing
According to the movie The Ten Commandments, when the children of Israel were freed from their bondage in Egypt there were some feeble, blind, and crippled among them. However, God’s Word tells us that all were healed and able to start their journey to the Promised land. Healing is in God’s 419 Plan.
He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Psa. 105:37
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. Exo. 15:26
Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Jer. 17:14
God’s Wealth
When God delivered the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt, the wealth of the Egyptians was given to them (gold, silver, jewels, raiment (...the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just Prov. 13:22). Also what they would need for the building of the tabernacle and its furnishings was provided for them. God always provides using many ways to do so.
But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians. Exo. 3:22
Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither. Exo. 10:26
But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deut. 8:18
God’s Strength
Strength is also a part of God’s 419 Plan. This plan is vital more than ever with the many challenges that we face every day. The price of this plan was paid by Jesus on the Cross.
And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place:... Exo. 13:3
The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace. Psa. 29:11
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isa. 40:29
We read in both the Old and the New Testaments how faithful God is in providing for His people. Always remember—God’s 419 Plan covers all of our needs today.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches
in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:19
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. Psa. 119:16
I pray that this series of the ABC’s of Scriptures has been a delight and a blessing to you as it truly has been to me. Memorizing God’s Word will help us in our daily lives and will certainly cause us not to forget His Word. We conclude our study with the letters—X, Y, and Z.
X - Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. Psa. 118:28
How worthy is our God to be praised and to glorify His name. His love and faithfulness toward us should make our hearts glad and be easy to exalt him daily.
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Eph. 1:19,20
The world has many voices that proclaim the greatness and might of their power. How thankful we can be that the exceeding greatness of our God is to us who believe because His mighty power in Christ which raised Him from the dead and set Him on the right hand in heavenly places.
Y - Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase. Psa. 85:12
It is a comfort to know that the Lord gives us good things. God also will cause us to yield an increase in the things that we need.
But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. Psa. 102:27
What a wonderful God we serve who does not change, but forever remains the same. We can depend upon Him because of His faithfulness.
Z - Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14
Jesus gave Himself on Calvary to free us from sin. Now we are a purified people that are zealous of good works which includes us wanting to share the Gospel with others.
They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. Psa. 125:1
Those that trust in the Lord will be unmoveable like mount Zion. In these days we need to know that God is a strong refuge for us.
Because of Jesus
Mom and I have had a wonderful time meditating on God’s 419 Plan; and then applying it in our daily lives. Recently, we had a need to have something repaired in our house. We could not find anyone who had the solution to this problem. I called on Jesus and reminded Him that we needed His 419 Plan to help us in this matter. The Lord helped us to find someone who was able to solve the problem and was able to fix it. God’s 419 Plan is truly a blessing in our lives.

Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 1 Chron. 29:12
What a joy it is to know that we have a personal relationship with our God who always provides for us no matter what is taking place in our lives. In all kinds of weather, rain or shine, all hours of the day or night, in moments of joy or times of sorrow—He is always there to listen, guide, and help us. We do not set aside a special time or day to be grateful, but rather we are to thank and praise Jesus continually.
We thank God for you and for your help in bringing the Lord Jesus and His Word into the lives of others. May this Thanksgiving be a great day of celebration and thankfulness as God keeps you safely in His perfect will.

God’s 419 Plan
With the increase in gas prices and soaring food prices, it seems that many of us wonder how can we make ends meet. Plans that many of us have made concerning the future is now looked upon as quite uncertain. The stock market has become more volatile than ever before and is totally unstable. Many of the plans and programs that were in place to help us to live well and secure in the future have either been reduced in benefits or have been eliminated. However, God has a 419 Plan. God’s Word addresses our concerns about tomorrow,
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matt. 6:34
It is in times like these that reminds me about how our family learned a lesson about trusting God to meet our every need. This happened when my dad, mom, my brother John, and I were in Colorado holding evangelistic meetings. Just outside of Durango our vehicle slipped on a snowy, ice packed road and turned over on its side totaling the car. We had no way of getting to our meetings. A good friend of ours who lived in Colorado lent us his car. The meetings we had for three and a half weeks were filled with people being saved, delivered, and healed.
Every day we did not know where the finances would come from to continue our stay or where our meals would be provided. Many of our days and every night were filled with preaching the Gospel and seeing God move in great power. God provided all the finances that we needed and people invited us to eat with them or the churches had fellowship dinners. We needed the money to buy tickets to fly home and that need was provided. Also we bought another vehicle shortly after going home. God has a 419 Plan; He has promised that He would provide our daily needs,
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psa. 37:25
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things
I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Phil. 4:11,12
God’s Faithful Provision
God delights in His people being prosperous and having their every need supplied. There are many scriptures that tell us about His faithful provision for His children.
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Psa. 35:27
Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. Isa. 48:17
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Prov. 10:22
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Eph. 3:20
Depending Upon the Lord
The Lord warns us how important it is to trust Him for our future. Man attempts to make certain that anything unforseen will be taken care of and will cause little or no setbacks. However, God tells us to guard against depending upon man or trusting in riches.
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Psa. 118:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Cor. 9:8
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 1 Tim. 6:17
God’s Covenant With Us
God’s 419 Plan has been made available to us 24/7 and in every possible situation or need. God has spoken to us in His Word the reason why this plan is one that never changes or fails. This plan is secure and endures forever because God has made a covenant with us. A covenant simply means there is an assurance; a pledge; an agreement; a promise has been made.
My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. Psa. 89:28
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psa. 89:34
He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. Psa. 111:5
God has made a covenant that is everlasting and has been purchased by the Blood of Jesus. This covenant has been given to us through the Finished Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary.
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Heb. 13:20
God’s 419 Plan
There are all types of plans in the marketplace today that seemingly offer great benefits and security for the future. However, God’s 419 Plan is not an offer, but it is a promise that will not be broken or lack funds to fulfill. We can have joy and peace of mind when we look to the Lord for absolutely everything we need in life. God’s 419 Plan will not fail, fade, nor falter. This 419 Plan is forever established for the Word of God says,
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:19
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. Psa. 119:89
With all the uncertainty in life today it is sometimes easy to feel unsettled. There is no source that can bring us a feeling of well being or contentment. However, believers have a source that will bless us every moment, every minute, every day, and bring us peace of mind and a complete sense of security. What God has given to us in His Word it is settled even in heaven. We continue out study this month with the letter—V.
V - I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love. Psa. 119:113
We often have thoughts that would be termed vain. The more we read and study the Word of God the less our thoughts will be on the things of this world and instead thinking about how we can be a blessing to others.
The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. Psa. 118:16
Whenever we see the phrase the right hand of the Lord or the right of God these verses refer to Jesus Christ. If you study these phrases you will see what a wonderful and mighty Saviour we serve.
W - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Titus 3:5
It is impossible to be saved by anything that we do. Even our good works will never gain us right standing with God; only by the Blood of Jesus can we be saved.
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Col. 1:10
Our walk with the Lord needs to be one which is pleasing to the Lord and fruitful in all that we do. Also we are always to be increasing in the knowledge of God which is through the study of His Word.
He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. Prov. 2:7
The righteous are those who know Jesus as their Saviour and God has promised He will give them sound wisdom. Also He is a buckler to those who walk uprightly.
Because of Jesus
Recently, Mom and I were talking about the state of our country. There is so much turmoil and uncertainty I began to think—just what lies ahead for us. There seems to be no plan in sight. As I pondered this I felt the Lord give me something that brought me such a sense of comfort and security. Although I have known this scripture for many years, God revealed something I had never considered. I do have a plan—God’s 419 Plan. There are all kinds of plans that man has devised and yet few, if any, are stable and reliable today.
When I shared this with mom, she said what a great revelation, we need to share it with others. About the same time we both agreed that we need to write about this together in the October issue. We have been using God’s 419 Plan because we literally have been inundated with opossums in our backyard. The man who has been trapping them said that there is usually 3 or possibly 4. To date he has trapped 5 and he is still placing traps in the backyard. It is getting quite expensive—each opossum comes with a price for pick up. Thank God we can rely on His 419 plan.

Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort:
thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Psa. 71:3
What a comfort it is to have the Lord as our strong habitation. When things are continually changing we can rest assured that the Lord is our fortress from all calamities around us. God’s Word also tells us that we can dwell in peace, security, and in quietness.
And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; Isa. 32:18
Thank you for praying and giving financially to this ministry. Your faithfulness enables us to minister to those who often have troubled lives. They are learning that they also can have peace and security in the Lord Jesus. It is our prayer that you will increase and abound in every good work as our Heavenly Father keeps you safely in His perfect will.

Go on Through the Wilderness and on to Victory
Wilderness Experience — A wilderness is something that most would want to avoid if at all possible. When we think about a wilderness we picture an arid area, a wasteland, or a place with little substance to sustain life such as food and water. Certainly not a place of rest, tranquility, or an ideal spot for a vacation. The word wilderness is found in 294 verses of the Bible and particularly used in describing the journey of the Israelites after their deliverance from Egypt. There were many trials in their journey, yet after each hardship God sustained them, blessed them, and brought them into the Promised Land.
In our Christian walk every one of us will have wilderness experiences. During these times God will guide, sustain, bless, and then deliver us out of the wilderness. Our family here in Texas experienced a time in the wilderness beginning in February of 202l. It started with an extremely cold winter with life threatening conditions. Rob, my son-in-law became quite ill; and in May 2021 Rob was received into the glorious presence of the Lord. Along with my daughter, Ginger, we grieve the loss and miss Rob more than words can say. As all other ministries Journey’s End also was affected financially as well as people being reluctant to come for ministry.
In July 2021 Betsy and I had covid; I spent six days in the hospital with pneumonia. At the time both Betsy and I had no after effects. After Betsy was no longer contagious, she went to Tulsa to spend a few days with my sister and her husband. Betsy became sick with after effects of covid and spent 13 days in a Tulsa hospital. In September 2021 I also had after effects from covid and as a result this last July 2022 had a complete hip replacement.
We received many blessings and miracles during this time. One such miracle was Betsy’s recovery during the 13 days she spent in a Tulsa hospital. After 8 days her recovery was slowly progressing. On the 9th day of her time in the hospital, I awoke and said that I had enough from the enemy. I proclaimed that Betsy was healed, no longer under the influence of the devil, and asked the Lord to make her whole. On her way to the hospital the same day, my sister Carole, who had spent every day with Betsy prayed a similar prayer. When Carole walked into the hospital room, Betsy was totally different and well on her way to recovery. In a few days she was released from the hospital. My son, John who lives in Missouri, along with his daughter, Abbey, brought her home.
I have to admit that the past year and a half has seemed like a very long wilderness that would never end. Although during the wilderness there were many challenges, Jesus has been faithful in every area of our lives and in our ministry.
On to Victory — Every one of us have had to go through a wilderness. They are unavoidable even in a Christian’s life. The importance does not lie in where the wilderness takes place nor the circumstances surrounding it. What is vital is that we seek God in the midst of a wilderness. A wilderness can seem to be relentless in both the length of time and the circumstances involved. A wilderness can be a very confusing place with solutions that might be considered, some of these may look promising. However, God has a plan for us in every situation and if followed, He will bring us out of any wilderness. God always will be faithful to lead, guide, and deliver us. We see this throughout the Bible.
The Old Testament prophets spoke about the suffering of the Israelites (being pursued and captured, their homeland and temple destroyed, and the Israelites scattered all over the world). The Israelites have lived through many wildernesses, yet God always was faithful to deliver them. I was led to read the 37th chapter of Ezekiel. In this chapter God sat Ezekiel in the midst of a valley of dry bones (dry bones represent Israel, Eze. 37:11). When asked by God, Can these dry bones live, Ezekiel responded, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Then Ezekiel was told to prophesy the words that God told him to say, so that the dry bones would live. This meant that Israel will one day experience a final, complete deliverance from all their enemies. It is important that we realize that it was the Word of God which caused the bones to live again.
There may be a type of dry bones in your life. Just as Ezekiel spoke God’s Word to the dry bones that they might live—you can do the same to the dry bones in your life whatever they may be. It is the Word of God that has the power to renew and cause the dry bones that you have experienced in a wilderness to be renewed and flourish once again.
It is important in a wilderness, that you do not rely on your own efforts by just quoting scriptures, but by looking to and trusting Jesus. When seeking the Lord on what you should say to your dry bones remember to,
Trust only in Jesus
And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him. Psa. 37:40
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Psa. 71:1
Remember Jesus never fails
And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. Deut. 31:8
He shall not fail nor be discouraged,... Isa. 42:4
Jesus has promised to hear you and deliver you
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. Psa. 91:15
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isa. 43:19
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psa. 119:160
Truth is hard to find in a world filled with misinformation, deception, and even lies. What a blessing it is for those who know Jesus as their Saviour to remember what God has spoken in Numbers 23:19, God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Therefore, we can depend and stand firm on what the Word of God has said. Our study continues this month with the letter—S.
S - The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psa. 27:1
The Lord has promised to be our light and our salvation. He gives us light so that our walk with Jesus will be safe and secure. Therefore, we need not be afraid for God also is our strength.
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. Psa. 119:2
How wonderful it is to be blessed by the Creator of all things. Also how very rich we can be when we seek Him with our whole heart.
T - It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Psa. 118:8
When we see all the changes in our world that are taking place how futile it is to place our confidence in man’s ability, plans, and promises. Truly it is better to trust the Lord to watch over us and keep us.
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Psa. 105:2
Every day we should have a song in our hearts that might glorify the Lord. Then we will be able to talk of His wondrous works to others around us.
U - Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. Psa. 145:3
Truly, the Lord’s greatness can be spoken of as unsearchable. His unchanging love, His care for us, and His willingness to supply our every need is indeed marvelous.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:7
In a world of confusion and sorrow God has given us a peace that keeps our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. This peace of God cannot be fully understood ; however, we can be assured that it is true if we place our trust in what He has said in His Word.
Because of Jesus
Betsy and I are so grateful for our Lord and Saviour Jesus who has kept us in the midst of extremely trying times. Although we grieve the loss of one member of our family, my son-in-law Rob, God has been our strength, comfort, and help. Even with the difficulties we have encountered, God has been faithful to bless us and watch over us. Again we thank you for your prayers, financial support, and the words of encouragement you have shared with us. We are looking for the Lord to do great things in the days ahead at Journey’s End as we see souls saved, many healed, and deliverance for those who feel discouraged and hopeless—all of this because of Jesus.

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psa. 50:15
Our world truly is filled with uncertainty as trouble and distress seem to be a part of every day life for the vast majority of people. As children of God we do not need to feel apprehensive concerning the daily events. For we have a Deliverer, the Lord Jesus Christ. In the day of trouble we can call upon Him and He has promised that He will save and deliver us.
I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys:
I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. Isa. 41:18
Thank you for helping us to share these same precious promises with others. Your prayers and financial support truly are appreciated. May our loving Heavenly Father bless you and keep you safely in His perfect will.

What Makes Life Worth Living
As a whole our world lies in darkness under the penalty of sin. Very little is understood by most people about living a fulfilled life, including many Christians. There seems to be a continual search for the true meaning of life. This is why we see the tremendous increase of motivational type seminars, books, lectures, methods, etc. All of these are designed with the intent that the participants will find some kind of meaning in their lives. Cults also are flourishing with their promises of a brighter tomorrow to all who will adhere to their false doctrines and philosophies.
A vast majority of our citizens, young and old alike, spend much of their time in three areas—shopping, entertainment, and working. Also, the majority of people have almost no interest in anything else. Hobbies, creative time, sitting down to talk with someone, or even taking time to watch a sunset or sunrise are fast becoming a thing of the past. Few truly have an understanding of what makes life worth living. In Ephesians 4:1-4 the Lord Jesus has given the believer 3 things that makes life worth living. First, we have been called by God to serve Him and to walk worthy within that calling; second, we are to live virtuous lives with meekness, lowliness, and kindness; and third, our calling must always be embraced with love.
A Calling—We are to view our lives as a calling from God no matter what we may be doing to earn a living. Our focus needs to be on what we can be in Christ and what we can do for God. This will help us not to pursue trivial things. Every child of God is to walk expecting to be used by the Lord as a witness of our faith in Jesus as well as to share the Gospel with those around us.
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Eph. 4:1
Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. 1 Cor. 7:20
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 2 Tim. 1:9
To Walk
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psa. 86:11
Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. Psa. 89:15
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. Psa. 138:7
A career may gain a fortune, but a calling makes a difference.
Virtuous Living—Our lives need to be lived with a conformity to a standard of right. Also our calling must be pursued with lowliness, meekness, and longsuffering.
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering,... Eph. 4:2
With Meekness
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 1 Pet. 3:15
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 2 Tim. 2:25
With Lowliness
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Phil. 2:3
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Col. 3:12
With Kindness
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 2 Pet. 1:5
A renewal of virtue is needed in our land, and in the lives of its people.
Embraced with Love—We are to forbear one another in love; preferring others and their needs. Also we should strive to be led by His Spirit so that we will be effective in our calling.
..forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Eph. 4:2,3
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Eph. 3:17
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Eph. 3:19
Love always finds a solution.
It is by the calling which God has given to us that we can live, walk, and serve Him. Remember, it is important that we live with a conformity to a standard of right which includes holding to a virtuous life, one of meekness, lowliness, and kindness. In all of this we need to do so in the love of Jesus our Lord and Saviour above all else. This will bring blessing and meaning to our lives and will bless others as well.
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Prov. 10:22
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word. Psa. 119:42
In our above scripture we see it is important that we know how to answer those that hold us in reproach (despise or even scorn us). However, God has told us how we are to answer people, Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man (Col 4:6). As we learn and memorize God’s Word this will help us to witness to others and share with them that God’s Word does have the answer. We will continue our study this month with the letter—P.
P - For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Phil. 2:13
God enables us to do His will in our lives. When we are in His will we will be joyful and will have pleasure in doing so.
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. 2 Tim. 1:12
Even though trials come, we are not ashamed. For we believe in Jesus and are fully convinced that Jesus is able to keep us until that day when we see our Saviour face to face. Oh, what a day that will be!
Q - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb. 4:12
God’s Word is quick (alive), powerful and is sharper than any twoedged sword that is able to pierce the very soul, spirit, and body of every individual. Isn’t it wonderful how God knows our very thoughts and what is purposed in our hearts. Truly, God knows us.
And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quietresting places; Isa. 32:18
In these troubling times we can have a peaceful, sure place in which to dwell. God has provided a quiet place safe in the everlasting arms of Jesus.
R - If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Col. 3:1
In our daily lives there are so many things that we can seek on this earth that are temporal and which will not last. Be encouraged to seek the things that truly will count and last for eternity.
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8
There are three things which God requires of us in our daily lives that will show others of our love and commitment toward Jesus Christ. These 3 things are to do justly (being honest), love mercy (show kindness) toward others, and to walk humbly (not boastful) with God.
Because of Jesus
wanted you to know how much I appreciate you and Betsy and your ministry. Whenever I have called about a need you pray and you both help me look only to Jesus and to continue on when I am going through a rough time in my life. Thanks for caring and for your prayers.

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. Psa. 5:11
Truly we should rejoice and shout for joy, for the Creator of all things has promised to be our defense. Since our world today is permeated with trouble and distress, how very great is our need for a defender.
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Psa. 56:4
We rejoice at Journey’s End that we are helping others realize the tremendous promises of our Lord. It is through your prayers and financial support that we continue to reach those who need to know the many promises of Jesus Christ our Saviour. May each day be filled with the joy of the Lord as He keeps you safely in His perfect will.

Prepared For...
The 23rd Psalm is perhaps the most read, preached, quoted, and memorized portion of the Bible. This Psalm has such a variety of subjects which have helped, comforted, and blessed countless numbers of God’s people down through the ages. In my recent study of Psalm 23 God showed me a particular portion of the 5th verse in a whole new light.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:... Psa. 23:5
There are those of us who take being prepared very seriously. Much planning and preparation is given to certain events or situations. Then there are some of us who do very little, if any, in preparation for almost anything in our lives. Even though we may be skilled and talented often our preparation still falls short of a total success without the help of the Lord. Also there are things that happen in our lives of which we have no advanced warning or knowledge, thus making it impossible for us to do any kind of preparation.
So much of our preparation is relying upon ourselves and our abilities. In our attempt to prepare we scurry about with worry and anxiety. We find little calmness or rest in our efforts. We are on our own because including Jesus is too often not considered in our preparation. What a rest and peace of mind is ours when the Lord is included in our plans. We find great examples of God’s preparationfor the lives of His people in the Word of God.
Hezekiah
For years the priests had been disobedient to the Lord doing what was evil in His eyes. They had shut up the doors of the porch, put out the lamps, and had not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel. Thus they experienced the wrath of God. When Hezekiah was 25 years old he became king of Judah and Jerusalem. He ruled right in the sight of the Lord.
In his 1st year Hezekiah opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them. It was in Hezekiah’s heart to make a covenant with the Lord God of Israel, that His fierce wrath would turn away from the people. The Lord chose Hezekiah to stand before God, to serve Him, and minister unto Him with burnt incense. Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced that God had prepared the people; for the thing was done suddenly (2 Chron. 29:1-36).
Jonah
The Lord told Jonah to go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before Him. Instead of obeying God, Jonah fled from the presence of the Lord, and then to Joppa where he boarded a ship to Tarshish. The Lord sent a great wind and a mighty tempest in the sea so that the ship would likely be wrecked. While Jonah slept the mariners, being afraid, lightened the cargo to help save the ship. These men also cast lots to see who had caused the dire situation and the lot fell upon Jonah. The men asked him if he had disobeyed his God. Jonah said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you. Although they tried to row the ship to land they did not succeed. So they took up Jonah, and cast him into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging (Jonah 1:1-17).
It was not just by chance that Jonah was swallowed up by a great fish because it was God who had prepared the fish to swallow him up. Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Then Jonah was delivered from the belly of the whale. Also the Lord God prepared a gourd and made it to come up over Jonah that it might be a shadow over his head to deliver him from his grief (Jonah 4:6).
Simeon
There was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon who was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel. It was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. He was led by the Spirit into the temple when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for Him after the custom of the law. Simeon took Jesus up in his arms, blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy word, For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel (Luke 2:25-32).
Jesus before His crucifixion
God’s plan for Jesus from His conception, His birth, His life, His ministry on earth, His death, and His resurrection were planned and prepared with total perfection in every minute detail. Even the Last Supper was planned and carried out in its entirety. Just before Jesus was to die on the Cross, He told His disciples to go to a certain man and he would show them a large upper room furnished and prepared; Jesus said there make ready for us (Mark 14:15).
In the preceding stories in God’s Word, we can see the hand of God’s preparationin these 4 lives that they might fulfill what God called them to do. Of course, Jesus was totally obedient to the Father’s plan and calling for His life. Each of the other three, Hezekiah, Jonah, and Simeon had to come to the realization that their own abilities and plans could not fulfill God’s plan for them. These accounts reveal how much easier it would be for us to rely on God’s faithful preparation in the events of our lives. To do otherwise, we will struggle with our own abilities and our own plans which can only result in fear, worry, and dread. The Lord wants us to trust Him that His preparations for us will work on our behalf and the outcome will be one of joy, rest, and peace of mind.
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Isa. 64:4
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Prov. 30:5
Truly we need to put our total trust in the Lord and also it is important that we look to Him as our shield in these last days. Every Word of God is pure and by reading a portion of His Word daily we will draw closer to Him. Using the ABC’s of Scripture will help us to hide the Word of God in our hearts and also to memorize scripture. This month our study begins with the letter—M.
M - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Heb. 4:16
How wonderful it is that through prayer we can approach God’s throne of grace with boldness. Every one of us needs mercy(compassion) and grace (favor) to help us in our time of need.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. Psa. 77:12
We need to meditate (dwell on; think about) God’s work and talk about all that He has done for us. If we do this, those around us will take notice and we will encourage others to want to know Jesus as their Saviour.
N - Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: Jer. 32:17
Since God is the Creator, we can be assured that nothing is too hard for Him. So when things occur in our lives, let us be reminded that God is in control.
There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. 1 Sam. 2:2
There is no one that we can compare to our Lord. There is none holy, none beside Him, and neither is there anyone like our God. What a mighty God we serve!
O - Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Tim. 1:17
Let us give praise and honor to God for He is the King eternal, everlasting, invisible, and the only wise God.
Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Psa. 119:18
Our prayer needs to be one that God will open our eyes to see His wondrous works.

I just wanted to thank both of you so much for your ministry. You are both touching lives wherever you go. You are a blessing to me and my family.

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. Psa. 9:9,10
Many of us have experienced storms and difficulties in our own personal lives. What a comfort it is to know that God is our refuge in these times of trouble in the world. He will not forsake those who trust and seek Him.
We thank you for remembering and giving to this work of God as we make a difference in many lives through the Lord Jesus Christ. People are being saved, healed, and delivered because you care. It is such a joy to hear of the victories that are taking place in their lives. May the Lord strengthen, encourage, and keep you safely in His perfect will.

In God’s Time
The Lord who has unfailing wisdom has appointed a time for the outpouring of His gracious mercy and power. We, however, are in a hurry to see results right now. We should be filled with joy and gratefulness for the many blessings that He already has given to us. Therefore, we need to live in great expectation of His promises that are yet to be part of our future. For God is never early in His perfect time neither is He late in His appointed time.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Hab. 2:3
God’s Word is alive and therefore, it will speak—it will come to pass. It is only a matter of our patience in waiting to see the faithfulness of our Lord.
Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. Psa. 33:8,9
For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Heb. 10:37
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Heb. 10: 38
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Pet. 3:9
The phrases—at a time appointed, in due time, at that time, it came to pass, and other similar phrases are found repeatedly within the pages of God’s Word. Each time we read of their fulfillment, we also see the Lord’s perfect plan unfold for His people.
We see God’s perfect timing in both the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and also His death came at an appointed time.
But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, Gal. 4:4
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Rom. 5:6
During the time of Jesus’ ministry here on earth, the phrase it came to pass was used. This phrase was used in reference to Jesus ministering healing, teaching God’s Word, and praying.
And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. Luke 8:40
And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, Luke 9:51
Oh, that we would but trust in our Father’s faithfulness to perform that which concerns us (Psa. 138:8). For His faithfulness is far more reaching that we could ever fathom.
Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. Psa. 119:90
Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. Psa. 36:5,6
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. Psa. 36:7-10
Whatever vision you have; whatever you long for; whatever your need may be, wait, I say—wait on the Lord (Psa. 27:14). God’s time is the best time.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecc. 3:1
I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. Ecc. 3:17
God never showed a path that He did not light the way. He never made a promise that He did not fulfill. He never made an appointment that He did not keep. All in due time—God’s time.
O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Isa. 25:1
Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. Psa.143:1
No promise of the Master shall ever fail. What good news this is to the believer’s ears, when so much around us continues to falter and fail. Beloved, we can be at peace knowing that His promise, though it tarry, wait for it because it will surely come, it will not tarry. How can we but wait for the best that God has for our lives!
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope Psa. 130:5
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. Psa. 119:140
How very blessed we are in this land to have so many freedoms. This is because the Gospel still has the liberty to be proclaimed throughout its borders. Every minute, every hour, whether day or night we are still able to read and speak of the Word of God in so many places. This is not the case in most of the world. Therefore, we need to read, study, and tell others of the greatness, goodness, and everlasting love and care that Jesus has for us. The Word of God is enduring and will not fade away or cease to be. Cling to and cherish His Word in daily reading what God has to say to you. This month we will begin with the 10th letter of the alphabet—J.
J - And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Rom. 8:17
We have been made joint-heirs with Christ because of what He did on the Cross. We can be assured that Jesus will supply our daily needs.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Rom. 5:1
Being justified means that we have been made in right standing with the Lord. What peace we as Christians have knowing that because of the shed Blood of Jesus on the Cross, God no longer looks on us as guilty of sin, but He sees us justified.
K - Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile (guile has a connotation of cunning; crafty; deceitful). Psa. 34:13
We should strive to keep our conversation as one that reflects our love of Jesus and be a witness to those around us. What we say needs to be words that are honest before both God and man. Also it is important that when people around us hear us speak it should be with words of kindness and encouragement.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Eph. 4:32
Being kind and tenderhearted is too often neglected in the lives of many Christians. Remember, Jesus has forgiven us of our sins, therefore, never allow unforgiveness to take hold of our lives.
L - Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Psa. 25:5
Each day ask the Lord to lead us in truth and teach us His Word. Wait and seek the Lord each day; then He is faithful to guide us every day.
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:13
What joy we have looking for the soon Coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Truly, what a Glorious Day that will be!
Because of Jesus
I appreciate all that you have done for me and trust that God will keep using you to minister to others. Pointing them back to the Cross, where is all our hope and salvation.

Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee! Psa. 71:19
Truly, who is like our God? He has done such marvelous things for each of us. How very rich indeed we are in Him. It would take all of eternity to praise Him for the great and precious promises He has given to us.
For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. Psa. 86:10
He is always very gracious, faithful, and merciful to those who are in need. We are grateful for the Lord’s faithfulness as we minister to those who struggle with hurts and great needs. Jesus who is touched by our weaknesses is always ready to forgive, heal, and bless all who will seek Him. We thank you for helping us reach others with your prayers and financial support. May our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ bless you and keep you in His perfect will.

Listening — Listening — Listening
Never before in the history of man has it been so easy to hear about the very latest in worldwide events. Whether these events are major in scope or somewhat minor, we are able to hear about them. Our means of communication has made it possible for us to hear about wars, rumors of wars, peace talks, killings, disaster, kidnaping, sport events, the latest scoop on celebrities, etc. As quickly as the incident happens it is reported; and sometimes only seconds after an event takes place.
The enemy will use any means in attempting to draw our attention away from Jesus and God’s Word and toward the things of the devil’s kingdom. One of the best ways the enemy has to do this is through the tremendous amount of coverage the media has available to influence us. The media has been able to capture a vast number of hearts and minds to follow unrighteousness and embrace much of the world’s view of life. God’s Word has proclaimed that He desires that they be confounded, ashamed, driven backward, and put to shame for the evil that they promote.
Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Psa. 35:4
Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. Psa. 40:14
Even the church world is a buzz with all kinds of news about manifestations, power, faith, prophecies, new revelation, revivals, great moves of God, and the list seems endless. Yes, we as Christians are listening, listening, listening also. Sad, but many Christians are listening without measuring what is heard by a definite, and never changing standard—the Word of God. All that we hear and see must be judged in light of God’s Word. Out acceptance of anything must stand the test of the Word of God.
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. Psa. 143:8
Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. Psa. 17:5
Our morals, values, and standards as well as all our actions must be measured with the scriptures as the solid foundation of what we are to accept or what we must reject. Remember, not everything that sounds good, looks successful, and seems to be popular is from God. Even a message delivered by a great orator may not be scriptural.
Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. Psa. 119:160
Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Psa. 27:11
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. Jer. 6:16
The last few years have been filled with events most of us have found hard to believe that they have happened and continue to happen. We are inundated with so many voices bidding for our attention to listen and even to accept what is being reported as the truth. Often it has become difficult to know what is fact and what is just simply lies. God has given us two very important things to remember amid the many voices seeking our attention.
First, God has promised that He has eyes to see us and ears to hear us when we call upon Him in times of need, problems, or troubles.
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 1 Peter 3:12
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Psa. 18:6
Second, God promised that He would answer us and deliver us in times of difficulties.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me. Psa. 86:7
Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily. Psa. 102:2
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. Psa. 91:15
The Lord sees us, hears us, and answers us no matter what may be happening in our lives or what is taking place around the world. It is vital that we read the Word of God, meditate upon it, and then embrace it as the only true source we can depend upon in our daily walk. When we hear the world speaking, God’s Word is like a filter which will help us to separate truth from error and right from wrong.
I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments Psa. 119:60
Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. Psa. 119:24
And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts. Psa. 119:45
Lord, give us—an ear to listen—a great thirst for your Word—and a compelling desire to follow only that which is based securely upon Your precious and Holy Word. May we take Your Word as our heritage and the rejoicing of our hearts.
Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart. Psa. 119:111
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Psa. 85:8
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Psa. 119:133
There are many distractions in today’s world that tend to draw us away from the Lord and His Word. These usually are very subtle and are not partially bad or evil. They are simply meant to rob us of time spent with Jesus and God’s Word. Due to the fact that presently there are so many terrible and heart breaking things taking place here and abroad, we need to spend time in the Word of God and in prayer to combat the enemy’s assault on our family, friends, the body of Christ, the church, and our country and government. This month we will begin with the seventh letter of the alphabet—G.
G - The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Nahum 1:7
God is not only good, but He is a strong hold in the day of trouble. When we find ourselves in troubled times we can trust God that He will sustain us through any situation.
I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; Psa. 31:7
Gladness will be a part of our lives when we rejoice in the Lord. God considers our troubles and knows when we feel overwhelmed with problems that seem to have no solution.
H - Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:10
This is not a false humility of man’s doing. Humbling ourselves in God’s sight means to acknowledge His ability and not our own way to solve a problem or a difficulty. Then He has promised to lift us up rather than man.
Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Jer. 17:14
This is one of my favorite scriptures that I have memorized. God is truly our praise because He has not only healed us, but also saved us.
I - For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37
What a wonderful promise. There are so many things which we see that seem totally impossible. How very different God’s view is from ours. In every circumstance or problem we need to look at it through what God has declared— nothing is impossible to Him.
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Col 1:12
It is through Jesus and His sacrifice on the Cross that has made us able to be partakers of the inheritance which God has provided for us. What great and wonderful things lie in store for us throughout eternity.
Because of Jesus
I enjoyed Betsy’s ABC’s of scripture. This year I am choosing one from each letter to memorize so that I will have at least 26 verses memorized within this year of 2022. It is a great way to keep God’s Word before me daily.

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. Psa. 33:20-22
We truly are a blessed people whose God is the Lord! To know and serve Him is to be enriched beyond measure. We never need to be without hope for the Lord is our help and our shield. May our hearts rejoice only in Jesus because we do trust in His Holy Name.
Thank you for your prayers and continued financial support so that we may proclaim this same message of hope to others. There are so many who still need to be reached with the good news that Jesus loves them and is the answer to all their hurts, disappointments, and struggles. May the Lord Jesus graciously keep you safely in His perfect will.

When Confronted with Problems or Needs—Rest
There are many problems or needs in the lives of all believers. These range from very small to tremendous and overwhelming. When we have problems or needs the first thing that God wants us to do is—rest.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt. 11:28-30
Many have read the above verses and still do not know how to enter into God’s rest. It seems that all we can do is focus on the problem or the need. Perhaps some might ask the question—how do we enter into God’s rest when the problem or the need seems nearly impossible to solve?
The Lord spoke of His rest to the children of Israel after they were delivered from their many years of bondage at the hands of the Egyptians. God wanted His people to enter into the rest which He had promised them. As they wandered in the wilderness they tempted God; therefore, He was grieved with that generation and God said,
They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Heb. 3:8-11
God spoke of His people as having an evil heart of unbelief due to their disobedience to enter into the rest He had provided for them (Heb. 3:12). Just as the Lord said to the children of Israel He also speaks to believers today,
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. Heb. 4:1
Problems or needs in our lives tend to cause many of us to become discouraged and this could result in the hardening of our hearts. Since we have been made partakers of Christ, this same warning also applies to us today (Heb. 3:14).
We need to remember that God has considered rest very important. He created the world and all that is in it in six days; and then on the seventh day God rested.
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. Heb. 4:4
In the Book of Hebrews chapters 3 and 4 there were two very different ways that God’s people looked at problems and needs in their lives. It was either through faith or it was through unbelief. The Lord wanted them to trust Him; and then be able to enter into the rest He had already promised them. This is true for us today when we are confronted with any problem or need. Allowing unbelief in our lives only leads to doubt, anxiety, worry, and remember, perhaps even hardness of heart toward God. Yet placing our faith or trust in God is the path to entering into His rest.
In the scriptures we see that Jesus marvelled only twice—one time because of unbelief and the other time because of faith. It was on the sabbath day when Jesus began to teach in the synagogue and many were astonished. They questioned how Jesus could have such wisdom and do mighty works being only a carpenter, the son of Mary. They were offended by Him. Jesus spoke to them and said, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. Therefore, Jesus could do not mighty works except lay hands on a few sick people and heal them. Jesus marvelled because of their unbelief (Mark 6:2-6).
The other time Jesus marvelled was in Capernaum when a centurion came to Him saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. Jesus said to the centurion, I will come and heal him. The centurion replied saying, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel (Matt.8:5-10).
The children of Israel failed to enter into the rest that God had promised them and let their unbelief harden their hearts toward God. Beloved, the following three verses of scripture will bring us peace of mind, assure us of God’s faithfulness, and cause us to be joyful in a world full of sin, despair, and tragic events. Remember what the Lord has said,
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb. 4:9
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Heb. 4:10
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Heb. 4:11
When confronted with problems or needs, consider the following verses and bind them in your hearts. For they will give you hope and a steadfastness for a future of blessings from our God.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psa. 37:7
To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. Isa. 28:12
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psa. 119:11
It is important to hide God’s Word in our hearts so that we might not sin against the Lord. A great way to do this is to remember and memorize it by using the 26 letters of our alphabet. We will continue the learning of God’s Word with the letter D.
D - Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8
All of us at times have troubles or difficult circumstances. We have only one of two choices to make. One is to become angry, upset, and may even blame God for what has taken place in our lives. The other choice is to turn to God, draw closer to Him, seek Him for help and an answer to the problem we are experiencing. If we will draw nearer to the Lord, He has promised to draw near to us. Help will come and answers will be given to us.
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Psa. 37:4
The last half of this verse would seem to indicate that we could have just about anything we desire. However, the first part of the verse of scripture holds the key to the desires of our hearts. Delight in the Lord is the key because when we first delight, meaning we take pleasure in God; we are joyful over him; and who He is. Then our joy in knowing and loving Him is first before all else. Whatever we desire will be what God knows is best for us both to have and to do.
E - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thess. 5:18
When God has said in every thing give thanks, that is exactly what He means. No matter what may take place in our lives, we are to be thankful that we have a loving, caring, and a good God who understands and is going to help us in every detail of our lives. Jesus paid the price and we have the victory through what Jesus Christ did on the Cross.
Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Psa. 145:2
What a blessing to serve a wonderful Lord. Therefore, every day we should praise and thank the Lord for His goodness.
F - Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph. 6:10
How can we be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might? The following verses of Eph. 6:11-17 tell us to put on the whole armour of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles (deceptions) of the devil. It is especially needful that we put on this armour to combat the enemy.
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. Psa. 112:7
There are so many events that we hear about which being so evil can disturb our hearts. However, God wants our hearts to be fixed on Him. Fixed means to be settled; established; firm; fast; and stable. Our hearts need to be fixed (established) in Jesus so we can continue to trust in Him.

The Plan, the Part, and the Promise
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. Matt. 24:6,7
Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? This scenario, which was spoken by Jesus some 2000 years ago, is being seen in various media. We hear and see reports of disasters, violent crimes, terrible diseases, riots, injustices, and corruption in governments. Most likely we will be inundated with more of the same in 2022. How can anyone rise above such a forecast and be even a little optimistic about the future? For the unsaved, the solutions being offered afford them almost no relief from the turmoil ahead.
Mercifully, for the believer, God has provided a means of victory, rest, and peace. However, one stipulation that God has given to His saints—we must become participants. God’s instructions are clear, direct, and simple, but they require action on our part. The Lord has a specific Plan, He expects us to do our Part, and He never fails to keep His Promise.
God’s Plan is for us to
•Receive His words and hide them in our hearts
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; Prov. 2:1
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psa. 119:11
•Treasure the truth of His Word
How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! Prov. 16:16 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Prov. 30:5
•Give to Him of our substance
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: Prov. 3:9
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. Prov. 8:21
Our Part is to
•Hear, then trust and obey His Word
So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Prov. 2:2
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. Jer. 17:7
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. Psa. 119:2
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. Psa. 119:16
•Honor Him with the firstfruits of all our increase
Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. Psa. 67:6
Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. Psa. 71:8
God’s Promise is to
•Give us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Prov. 2:6
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Psa. 119:104
•Be a buckler to us and preserve our way
He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. Prov. 2:7,8
The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. Psa. 145:20
•Give us length of days, long life, peace, and favor
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Prov. 3:2,4
For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psa. 5:12
•Direct our paths
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Prov. 3:6
That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. Prov. 2:20
•Provide abundantly
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Psa. 35:27
A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year. Deut. 11:12
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:19
It is vital in 2022 that we devote time in the study of God’s Word. Seek to spend time with Him and with other saints of God who also are diligently desiring to follow and serve Jesus. Beloved, the riches of His Promises awaits all who will follow His Plan and do their Part.
Although circumstances may not change in our lives immediately, we do have the assurance that our God never changes. Our world may be in turmoil, but our God is always steadfast and will never fail in any of His promises. Remember, when we follow God’s Plan by doing our Part, we will reap the benefits of His Promises for He has said,
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee. Isa. 54:10
Be Encouraged...in the ABC’s of Scriptures
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isa. 55:11
The above verse tells us that God has promised us that every word which proceeds from Him will accomplish that which He pleases; and also His Word will prosper where He sends it. What a wonderful promise! Often when we are faced with a problem, we may not know what to pray. Praying the God of Word is always a good way to approach troubles and difficulties. Stop—and replace worrying and doubting with the Word of God. It is better to hold on to a verse of scripture than to hold on to the problem. A great way to learn and remember the Word of God is to use the 26 letters of our alphabet. We will begin this month with the letter A.
A - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Rom. 8:28
No matter the circumstances that may be troubling us, God has said that all things work together for good to them that love God. Remember, it does not say all things that happen to us are good, but rather all things do work together for good.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Eph. 6:16
Our enemy, the devil, is always trying to send problems, troubles, and doubt our way, but God’s Word says above all take the shield of faith and quench his fiery darts.
B - Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psa. 103:1,2
As difficulties come our way we are to first, bless the Lord with all that is within us; and second, also we are not to forget all his benefits. Praying the Word of God helps us to remember to bless him, and also not to forget the vastness of His benefits.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Eph. 2:4
There have been numerous times that we have sinned or failed and how much we need His mercy. Thank God that He is rich in mercy and forgives us making it possible for a new beginning every day.
C - Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psa. 55:22
In this verse God tells us to do one thing—cast our burden on Him. Then He promises to do two things for us—He will sustain us and never suffer us to be moved. When we cast something we send it away or throw it away from us. In other words what burdens us is likes garbage, something that has no use in our lives. We are to give it to the Lord so He can take care of the matter as He protects and preserves as well as helps us not to be moved.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matt. 11:28
Jesus promised that when we are labored and are heavy burdened if we would come to Him, He has promised to give us rest.

In this New Year may you

With Thanksgiving
But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psa. 86:15
What a blessing it is for us to know that our God is full of compassion when we so often are faced with times of anxiety, frustration, fear, hurt, and tremendous uncertainty. Remember, we can be at peace and rest because our Father God is gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in both mercy and truth. We thank God that we are giving hope, truth, and assurance to those who at times feel hopeless about their future. As they place their hope and trust in Christ Jesus they will become more certain that He is ever present to help them.
He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. Psa. 111:4
